Example of a Social Impact Content Creator Job Description

INTRODUCTION:

  • Company overview: Founding vision, current state of affairs, size, relevant stats. 
  • Role mission: Goals, team, and resources to make it happen. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the creation of engaging and impactful content across various platforms, including social media, blogs, and multimedia channels, ensuring alignment with the company's mission and values.
  • Develop and implement content strategies that support social impact initiatives, including identifying key messages, target audiences, and communication goals.
  • Oversee content creation projects from inception to completion, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and effective delivery.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, and design, to ensure cohesive and impactful content delivery.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of content initiatives, providing regular updates and reports on engagement metrics, audience feedback, and overall effectiveness.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in content creation or a related field, with a demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective content strategies for social impact.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field; relevant certifications in content creation or digital media are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of content development principles, including storytelling, audience engagement, and platform-specific strategies.
  • Experience with content management systems and digital tools such as WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media analytics platforms.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with Agile or other project management methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze content performance data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience leading creative projects and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of budget management and cost control related to content production.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and present content strategies effectively.
  •  Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards related to content and social impact.
  • Experience with change management processes to ensure smooth content transitions and minimal disruption.
