A leading global provider of renewable energy solutions, operating across multiple countries and specializing in various sustainable energy technologies, is seeking a skilled Solar Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of photovoltaic (PV) solar equipment throughout the UK, working closely with the Team Leader to ensure the efficient functioning of solar installations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and servicing of solar PV systems.
  • Execute corrective maintenance, including fault finding, troubleshooting, and repairs on solar PV systems, with a focus on mechanical and electrical diagnostics, particularly on power inverters.
  • Carry out proactive repairs and component replacements to minimize system downtime and ensure maximum solar plant availability.
  • Provide emergency response outside of regular hours, including weekends
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Manager to develop effective solutions.
  • Deliver training sessions to improve the technical skills of other team members.
  • Document all maintenance activities using computer-based reporting tools.

Job Requirements

  • Experience as a Service Engineer with a background in solar PV systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills, particularly with power inverters.
  • Proficient in using computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and diagnostic tools.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and holidays, with short notice.
  • Valid UK driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be in good physical condition, as medical assessments will be required.
