Are you an experienced Civil Engineer with a background in structural and mechanical engineering, ready to advance the transition to renewable energy? We are seeking a Civil and Mechanical Engineer to join our team, where you will play a crucial role as a technical advisor and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee civil and mechanical engineering designs and calculations, serving as the expert for discussions with technical advisors from financial institutions.
  • Ensure all engineering designs and works by third parties comply with relevant norms, regulations, and project-specific requirements, including those outlined in standard EPC contracts.
  • Prepare and review structural assessments, topographical surveys, geotechnical and soil investigations, hydrological and hydraulic studies, and pull-in-and-out tests.
  • Analyze and interpret technical documents and reports from third parties, and translate findings into design requirements.
  • Develop detailed drawings and Bill of Quantities (BoQ) for photovoltaic systems using software like AutoCAD Civil 3D, PVCase, or PV Design.
  • Draft technical specifications for civil, mechanical, and structural components and work closely with the Engineering team to define PV designs.
  • Act as the technical expert in discussions and negotiations related to civil, mechanical, and structural issues with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Support development and sales engineers throughout the project lifecycle, including review of designs and structural solutions provided by third parties.
  • Aid the Procurement Team in evaluating technical solutions from structure manufacturers and civil works contractors.
  • Collaborate with civil specialists on-site to support construction and address site queries during commissioning.
  • Keep abreast of advancements in civil and structural engineering, and apply this knowledge to optimize solar PV designs for cost reduction and performance enhancement.
  • Engage with various photovoltaic technologies, including floating, rooftop, and carports, and other renewable technologies in hybrid plants such as storage and wind.

Qualifications:

  • Over 5 years of experience in Utility Solar Power Plants, with additional experience in energy sectors like Oil & Gas, Wind, or Storage being advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Knowledge of international standards for PV Solar Projects, including IEC, IEEE, EN, UNE, and UL.
  • Proficiency with GIS tools such as Google Earth.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with proficiency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish, Swedish, Polish, French, Italian) being a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites across Europe as needed.
  • Experience with hybrid projects and understanding of energy project finance is highly valued.

This position offers the flexibility to work remotely from any location in Europe, with occasional travel required for meetings and site visits.
